The proper way to job search
Throughout the week I have been searching and applying to jobs. I am starting to understand why it’s best to reach out to recruiters especially when there are over 100 applicants in the job you’re applying to. In the past, I would only apply to the job off of indeed and leave a cover letter and call it a day. It is a little rare when the recruiter for that position response to you. Look through the hire manages eyes, you post a job opportunity for specific skills. You get hundreds of applications some even have a cover letter. Do you think it’s possible to look through each resume plus a CV? No, not really, that’s where a system that detects specific skills comes in. This system reduces the number of resumes to just a few. Now your resume is not included in the list, because of one thing potentially missing. When you decide to reach out to a recruiter it is sort of like skipping a long line of people trying to get their hands on a new game system before it is sold out.
One of the best websites to network and reach out to recruiters is linkedin.com. It has all the necessary tools you can use to pinpoint to the hire manager of a job position in the company you are looking up. If you want to use linkedin to do all your networking and reach out make sure you make your profile look real professional. Put a nice photo of yourself on your profile picture. Add your job experiences and achievements as well. Anything recent you’ve created or are a part of add it to the feature list. Pretty much use your profile to sell yourself to anyone that is looking to hire you. By following these steps you have improved your chances of getting interviewed in no time.
